Danielle (Waugh) Stock, avid runner and Division 1 competitor, has always had a passion for fitness. Years of pounding pavement, fast sprints and power lifting left her body injury prone and fatigued. She realized she needed to diversify her workouts in order to notice a change, and wanted to share her findings with others. Danielle studied personal training in order to learn the physiology behind how the body operates. She started teaching spin classes in 2010 in Wilmington, but her true passion is barre. She loves how just three pound weights can get the same muscle sculpt without the bulk and muscle deterioration of power lifting, so after getting certified and teaching in Baltimore, she became the first instructor to bring it to Delaware. Trying to keep one step up in the fitness industry, Danielle added a hot pilates bootcamp to her regime and was recently certified in BodyShred. She just loves her burpees and cardio bursts! BodyShred, full of explosive and dynamic power brings her back to her days as a college competitor and adds that cardio element. The combination of running, cross training, high intensity, spinning, yoga and barre has proven to be what has kept her body in shape, so the next logical step was to open her own studio that would allow practitioners to not only have barre and yoga, but a great cardio workout as well- and Lovering Studio was born. Danielle is certified in AFAA group fitness, Barre, Oh baby Fitness, BodyShred, Mat Pilates and CPR/First Aid/AED.

Liz has been teaching yoga since 2009, and specializing in yin yoga since 2013. In the past several years, Liz recognized the need in her own body to balance yoga with explosive workouts. But with a booming health coaching business and a return to graduate school to complete an MSC in Nutrition, she didn’t have the time or desire to add hour-long classes to her life! Sound familiar? In a world where we are already stretched too thin on time, an intense, metabolic 30-minute workout can change your body and your life! Ashley Paoli Kapes

Ashley Paoli Kapes brings more than 7 years of personal training experience and a background in health sciences to Lovering Studio.  She earned her personal training certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in 2009 and a B.S. in Health Behavior Science with a Minor in Strength and Conditioning from the University of Delaware in 2012.  For 5 years, Ashley worked as a performance specialist at a top fitness studio in Wilmington, DE where she specialized in personal and semi-private training focusing programs based around the TRX.  Ashley has spent the last 3 years of her career at one of the largest health care providers in the mid-Atlantic region performing fitness assessments to identify patient needs, designing and instructing personalized exercise programs while monitoring client vital responses, developing balance and fall prevention classes for older adults, and finally assisting with the nutrition department in conjunction with the University of Delaware  studying Vascular Effects of Dietary Salt in Humans and Salt Resistant Blood Pressure.  She also spent a year as the Strength and Conditioning coach for the Talleyville Girls’ Softball Team.  Ashley is looking forward to bringing her vast knowledge and experience in personal training and TRX to Lovering Studio.

Sarah Leaman

I began practicing yoga over ten years ago, I was looking for a way to work through the stress of teaching Special Education in a Philadelphia public school. After my first power yoga class I thought I was going to die, but I was hooked! I found yoga was not only a great way to relieve stress, but made me strong and more balanced. My world completely changed in 2012 when my daughter was born. It was then that I became more aware and devoted to my practice. I began practicing yoga everyday and I felt transformed. I completed my 200 hour yoga training with Bill Raup at Power Yoga Works in the summer of 2014. I continue to be a student of yoga, always working to grow in my own practice and be inspired by others. I completed a second certification as a Child Light Yoga Instructor in 2015. Now I can share the love of my practice with my daughter and other aspiring yogis! I think yoga is for everyone, it’s just a matter of finding your right fit!  Come to my class to get flexible, de-stress, and increase your strength. My class is powerful, playful, and I promise you will sweat.

Kate Cahill

I have been personal training, coaching and teaching classes since 2007. Working with all types of people, with a variety of goals. I have always been involved with athletics. Growing up I played soccer, volleyball, ran track and  swam. In college I started to run which then lead me to competing in my first triathlon and 5 half marathons.

Certifications: BS in Exercise Science from the University of Delaware. AFAA group exercise certified, AFAA group cycling certified and AFAA kickboxing certified.

Specialties: Healthy lifestyle, endurance sports, weight loss and management, and post baby recovery.

Monique Claudio

Personal Trainer /Melt Method / Yoga

Monique Claudio is a Holistic Wellness Coach with a passion for helping people create optimal lifestyles to feel their best, remain vital, and connect deeply. She is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a degree in psychology, and has focused on mental and physical well being in her role as a certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine for over 10 years. As a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher having trained with Sadie Nardini, Leslie Kaminoff, Tiffany Cruikshank, Cindy Lee, Frank Mauro, Joe Miller, and Edward Jones as well as Tao Porchon Lynch. She loves teaching high energy classes like kettle bells and Jillian Michael’s Body Shred. As an advanced MELT method instructor, she takes pride in helping everyday folks reap the rewards of nurturing the mind and body as one system. Monique takes pride in sharing small interventions which have huge payoffs for everyone’s well being, joy, peace, and happiness.

Rebecca Phillips

I started participating in SkinnyBarre in February 2013 and now SkinnyBarre is my favorite way to stay in shape.  I fell in love with the class since it combines so many different elements of fitness that I enjoy- building lean muscle and strength from your core to arms and legs. Anyone can participate in SkinnyBarre, but as you become more advanced, you challenge yourself to “squeeze into those skinny jeans” and pulse until you burn!

I became certified in Balance Body Barre in November 2013 so that I could substitute teach SkinnyBarre whenever I’m needed.  During the week, I work at Cancer Support Community Delaware and spend time with my newborn daughter.  My husband, Pelle (my chocolate lab) and I live in Wilmington so when I’m not at the barre, you can find me walking Pelle, dining out at local restaurants or spending time with my family.

Becky is on the Wednesday/weekend rotation and is the Friday morning instructor.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Elizabeth Smith

I have always been physically active, a dancer, gymnast and cheerleader since I was three. In 2005, I began practicing yoga and Pilates, the hotter the room the better! Cardio Kick Boxing and HIIT are on my weekly rotation list too. My first barre class was in 2011, it is a perfect compliment to my fitness routine. After becoming certified to teach barre in 2013, I make a habit of taking barre classes in new cities and in new studios to learn from others. I am a career banker and fitness is my “second job”. Now that I am a full-time working mom of 2, I need a way to continue including fitness into my busy life and I only have time for effective fitness.  Barre is a great way for me to stay toned and healthy, before pregnancy, during and after.

As a life long athlete, after college I struggled to find a workout regimen that kept me interested. I jumped from kick boxing, to running, to yoga, and eventually found SkinnyBarre and fell in love! As a mom of three it was important to find something that gave me great results for the time I invested, and barre was the perfect fit! I love that each class is a challenge, and I always walk away (usually with shaky legs!) feeling stronger. I’ve enjoyed being a regular student for over 3 years, and finally took the jump and completed the Soul Body training in September 2015. I received additional personal training from Danielle Stock in the SkinnyBarre method, and look forward to seeing you in class!

Kristen Griffiths

Growing up outside of Allentown, PA, I was enrolled in dance classes at the early age of 5.  Since then I’ve practiced several styles of dance, namely ballet/pointe, jazz, tap, contemporary and hip-hop.  In my freshman year of high school, I also began cheerleading and continued that throughout the four years.  Attending college at Kutztown University, I auditioned for the dance company, Performing Dance Portmanteau (PDP), as a freshman where I enriched my knowledge of dance and learned how to be a choreographer.  Upon starting my career in the pharmaceutical industry, I struggled to find outlets for dance as an adult.  At that point I decided to try different forms of exercise.  After trying several types of exercise classes, I really fell in love with barre and how the technique shaped my body.

I received my barre training certificate from Soul Body in September 2015 and, after spending time learning the SkinnyBarre method from Danielle, I’m thrilled to begin substitute teaching!

I bring over 23 years of martial arts experience, 18 years of kickboxing/boxing, and 13 years in law enforcement. I earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and have years of experience in ground fighting tactics and Jiu Jitsu. I am really looking forward to bringing my knowledge in not only self-defense tactics, but exercise programs to help people achieve their fitness goals.

 

 

 

Jackie Bulkley

High Intensity Boot Camp Classes

Jackie has been teaching fitness classes for over four years. She started teaching cycling in 2013 and since then has become a certified personal trainer. Jackie teaches high intensity boot camp classes where she loves challenging her clients. She also teaches at [solidcore] in Bryn Mawr and loves being able to push her clients through so many different class formats. During the day, Jackieis a reading specialist and feels that being a teacher allows her to be an even better instructor in the gym. As an instructor, Jackie is fun and passionate- she will make you work harder than you thought you could. She expects your best in each class and will be there by your side to get you through the workout!

 

Demi Cruz

Kids Yoga Instructor

My love for yoga started way before I was even aware of what yoga was.  At the age of 7 or 8 I was away on vacation with family and I remember getting into lotus & placing my hands in Jnana mudra trying to be funny and make them laugh. I never knew that years later it would be a part of my everyday life as well as becoming my passion. My love for it goes deeper than the surface, because it definitely changed my life in more ways than one. I love life and everything it has to offer, even the bad moments. I have a love and deep connection with kids and I could never grow tired of that. I’ve coached 7-8 year old girls soccer and it was one of the best times of my life. I have two daughters. One is 7 and one is 5. When I started sharing yoga with them after completing my certification I instantly knew this was what I was supposed to be doing. I have been teaching family and close friends for 2 years. I am 43 hr certified through a program called Kidding Around Yoga. With this program, style of teaching & amazing curriculum kids will be motivated to be active, build confidence, and manage the spectrum of emotions that they experience in their day-to-day activities. Kidding Around Yoga style is stress management for kids! In this class they will get cardiovascular conditioning, fun and original music and games while still getting all of the traditional benefits of yoga such as meditation, breathing techniques, peace and deep relaxation. After all, the best way that kids learn is through play!
